Big Moose Inn offers seven comfortable and picturesque guest rooms that share three bathrooms. These rooms are the original rooms that were built for the river drivers who first occupied the Inn.
Each room has its own unique personality with either twin, full, or queen size beds. Our Inn rooms were recently remodeled while maintaining the original classic elegance that Fredericka Boynton created over 35 years ago.

Big Moose Inn's comfortable rooms and relaxed atmosphere await your next visit to the Millinocket and Katahdin Region. Spend a day hiking in Baxter State Park then relax in one of our many reading areas or spend time reminicing around the stone fireplace.
Cancellations & Changes
As an independently owned and operated inn, we do not overbook our accommodations—each reservation is made for a specific date, accommodation, and number of guests, and we are expecting you! Cancellations or changes made with short notice impact us significantly. We do sympathize, however, we must maintain our business policy due to our limited season and high demand.
- Reservations may be changed, moved, or canceled prior to 30 days of arrival with a full refund.
- Within 30 days of arrival, no refunds, changes, or adjustments will be permitted, and payments will be forfeited.
- No adjustments or refunds are available for early departures.
Please note: There are no exceptions to our cancellation and change policy, whether for reasons of sickness, family emergency, or weather. For added peace of mind, we offer optional trip insurance through Worry Free Booking. This coverage protects against weather, illness, injury, or travel delays, and we highly recommend adding it at the time of booking.
